The Gold Standard of Facebook Pages in Green Bay, Wisconsin
After a long hiatus from our series on awesome local Facebook pages, we’re back with a great line-up of pages to review. With the new year in full swing, see if there are any take-aways that you could use to take your own Facebook page to the next level in 2012.
1. The MarketingSavant Group
The MarketingSavant Group (http://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/marketingsavantgroup?ref=ts) is a local marketing firm that works with businesses to develop effective marketing campaigns. With a focus on social media and content marketing, it is only fitting that The MarketingSavant Group provides an excellent example of what a business Facebook page should look like.
Custom Landing Page

Newcomers to The MarketingSavant Group’s Facebook page land on a custom welcome page with links to more information about the business and services. The professional landing page demonstrates to potential fans and clients that The MarketingSavant Group takes their own marketing initiative seriously and truly believe in the power of good marketing.
E-Newsletter Sign-up

One of the primary platforms for The MarketingSavant Group’s social media marketing campaign is content creation via blog posts, webinars, and e-newsletters. The MarketingSavant Group has taken content sharing a step further by integrating a newsletter signup link into their page via MailChimp. That way, fans can easily subscribe to the newsletter directly from their Facebook page. Brilliant!
Inspiration from Current Events

The MarketingSavant Group does a great job using current events as fodder for conversation. Whether it’s playing off of the Holiday season, or delving into the latest industry news, The MarketingSavant Group always finds a way to keep up with the times and share fresh content with their fans on Facebook. Here’s an example of a Christmas promotion where they put together an e-book based on marketing ideas for the holidays, available for free download for all Facebook fans.
2. The NEW Zoo
The NEW Zoo (http://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/NEWZooGB) does a wonderful job keeping the residents of Northeast Wisconsin interested in zoo life all year round. Durring the long cold winter months of Green Bay, Wisconsin, people probably don’t think of the zoo as a viable option for entertainment. But thanks to their active presence on Facebook, The NEW Zoo does a great job keeping in touch and reminding people that the zoo doesn’t hibernate during the winter as some might assume.

Animal Pictures
If there’s one thing I know to be true about human nature, it’s that people love looking at animal pictures. Whether they’re funny, cute, creepy, or scary, pictures of animals never get old. Take this picture of a mom and baby monkey for example (sorry, I’m sure there’s a more technical name for these guys than “monkey”). This cute picture serves as an incentive to come down to the zoo to see these two in real life!

Videos
The NEW Zoo also incorporates video into their Facebook fan page with their “Educational Spotlight” (http://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/NEWZooGB?sk=videos) series. It’s a great way to keep fans entertained and engaged on their page.
3. Three Three Five
Three Three Five (http://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/threethreefive) is an up-and-coming private dining studio and restaurant on Broadway in downtown Green Bay. It’s clear that they have really found their niche by combining fine-dining with the growing demand for local ingredients. Their community of followers is extremely active and vocal on Facebook. Three Three Five does a great job of announcing important events and menu changes, but respectfully avoids bombarding fans with unnecessary status updates just for the sake of being heard.
Reservations
Here is an example of what it means to offer great customer service through Social media. A fan inquired about setting up a reservation at Three Three Five and received confirmation within an hour. Simple, yet effective.

Food Photos
To say that Three Three Five has something unique to offer to the culinary scene in Green Bay is an understatement. As I mentioned above, Three Three Five does a great job of informing their fans of menu updates, but sometimes a written description isn’t enough. Three Three Five takes the extra step and posts professional-quality photos on their fan page so that people can see what kind of unique cuisine to expect during a visit to the restaurant.

So there you have it; three completely different organizations making a successful go of social media marketing via Facebook. Have any Facebook page recommendations? Send them my way and I’ll include them in the next edition of “The Gold Standard of Facebook Pages.”
